Blaze: Beaten with a Bat
Blaze needs your help.
Its is apparent that Blaze’s owner neglected her for her entire life. At 7 years old, Blaze was dumped at a high kill shelter in San Antonio. Her owners signed a document stating that if Blaze wasn’t adopted by someone in 48 hours, she would be euthanized. This is how it goes in one of our nations most over-populated states. Her owners signed the form and left Blaze to die.
Even worse, the owner revealed that her neighbor BEAT Blaze with a BAT. She had a little limp but didn’t seem to be in pain.
Home Run Hounds was able to save Blaze’s life and get her out of the shelter when a foster offered to let Blaze stay at her home.
Sadly, we just learned that the beating that the neighbor gave Blaze actually dislocated her hip. She has been favoring that one side but it didn't seem to cause her any pain. We just wanted to have an X-ray done to check it out. Thank God we did.
If that's not bad enough, even though Blaze tested negative for Heartworm at the shelter, she tested positive at the vets office. There is a type of incubation period with heartworm so she likely contracted heartworms several months ago at her "home”.
Blaze needs to have surgery- a femoral head ostectomy to repair her dislocated hip. She also needs heartworm treatment.
She needs your help more than ever. If you can donate any amount that will help us reach the total estimate of $1,258, we can make her appointments.
Blaze has never had the love she deserves. If we can have her treated for these two medical issues, we can have her transported to her foster in the north. We want her to feel love and know she’s worth it.
