Scott Jablonka's Story
I've participated in Athletes 4 Autism since I moved to the Charlotte, NC area and it gets bigger and better every year. I really believe that if you are going to do something, then it better be for the greater good. Athletes 4 Autism is exactly that. Much of my lifestyle revolves around movement and fitness and there is no better way to do something good for the community than to combine both fitness and fundraising. It just makes sense.
Autism speaks provides opportunities for children to be successful in life. I was fortunate enough to have the resources I needed to set myself up for success later in life. I feel there is no reason why all children shouldn't have the same opportunities that I did, if not more.
I'm thrilled to be an ambassador this year. Let's get together and raise as much money as possible for Autism Speaks of North Carolina.

We're excited to have teamed up with CrossFit Mecklenburg for another year for our 2022 fundraiser for Autism Speaks. We have a fun-filled Partner WOD followed by an after party! *Proceeds will go to Autism Speaks.* Partners can be male/male , female/female and male/female. We will have a competitive division (RX & Scaled) and the top 3 teams in each division will receive medals and a goodie bag provided by our sponsors. We will also have a Fun For All Division! This is for anyone who would like to participate non-competitive. You can scale however you like.
Story
Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright, the grandparents of a child with autism. Mr. Wright is the former vice chairman of General Electric and chief executive officer of NBC and NBC Universal. Since its inception, Autism Speaks has committed more than $525 million to its mission, the majority in science and medical research. Each year Walk Now for Autism Speaks events are held in more than 100 cities across North America. On the global front, Autism Speaks has established partnerships in more than 60 countries on five continents to foster international research, services and awareness.
