What if the skeleton in your closet could talk back?
Skelly is a surreal indie animated series following Sarah Kazner, a Black woman trying to survive corporate hell, family pressure, and her own unraveling mental health… all while being haunted by a sarcastic skeleton named Skelly that no one else can see.
He smokes. He drinks. He runs a mysterious bar inside her closet.
And he may just hold the secret to what really happened to her.
Animation is powerful, but expensive. As an indie creator, I’m building Skelly from the ground up—writing, designing, directing, and producing this story with a small, talented team. With your help, we can:
Animate full pilot episodes
Pay voice actors, background artists, and animators fairly
Create detailed backgrounds and original music
Submit to festivals and pitch to studios
Share the story with the world
Skelly is about more than laughs and bones.
It’s about grief, identity, mental health, and the moments in between—the ones we don’t talk about.
Representation in animation matters. Black, neurodivergent, queer voices matter. And Skelly is here to make space for all of it—with humor, style, and a little skeleton chaos.
