The Medicine Spring Library plays a central role in fulfilling Blackfeet Community College’s mission by providing accessible, high-quality learning resources grounded in community, culture, and lifelong education. As the academic library for BFCC, a community library for the Blackfeet Reservation, and the caretaker of Blackfeet community archives, the library supports students and community members with spaces and services that honor both knowledge and culture.
Through outreach, programming, and partnerships, the library helps BFCC meet the needs of the “universal community,” offering resources and experiences that empower learning, creativity, and connection. Its goals include:
Providing essential educational materials for BFCC students
Meeting the information needs of the Blackfeet community—on campus and across the reservation
Offering strong programming in literacy, arts and crafts, archives, and information instruction
Preserving and caring for Blackfeet community records and historical materials
Sharing resources widely to promote access for all
The Medicine Spring Library offers extensive research databases, digital collections, community archives, interlibrary loan services, class visits, workshops, creative arts activities, and annual events such as Sketchtober, the community Art Show, Summer Reading, and Craft Fridays.
Your donation directly strengthens these programs, expands access to vital learning tools, and supports BFCC’s mission of serving the Blackfeet Nation through education, culture, and community engagement.
