April is a month dedicated to promoting autism acceptance. It aims to raise awareness about autism, reduce stigma, and increase understanding and acceptance of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. This month is an opportunity to celebrate neurodiversity and advocate for the rights and inclusion of individuals with autism.

ABOUT QSAC

QSAC is a New York City and Long Island-based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services.

QSAC was founded in 1978 by a group of parents confronted with limited-service options for their children with autism. Today, QSAC provides direct services to more than 2,700 children and adults throughout the region.

QSAC pursues its mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skills using applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles. Programs for children include early intervention, preschool, school, after school, and in-home educational and support services. QSAC’s adult programs include supportive living, skill development programs, vocational training, job placement, and in-home services. QSAC’s programs provide supportive and trained staff, high-impact services, and a commitment to quality.
