**What if, instead of simply surviving, we had the power and the place to define our future ?!**

The André Cailloux Center for Performing Arts and Cultural Justice is a portal—a living, breathing home place. Not just a building. Not just a program. A conduit for remembrance, for resistance, for connection.

This work isn't just about staying afloat. It's about growing legacy. And legacy? We learned how to hold it long before we had the words for it.

Do you remember playing on the playground? The rhythm. The call and response. The way you had to pay attention, stay present, and trust that everyone would hold the beat, turn the rope, pass the ball; the timing, the trust, everyone doing their part.

That's how culture survives, too. At ACC, we keep the beat alive so our community can gather, create, and celebrate. But we can't do it alone. We need you.

This year-end, we're calling on our community to help us raise $8,000 in individual donations that will unlock matching funds, bringing us to $50,000, which we need to power ACC's work through 2026.

We are not just holding space. We are reclaiming it. Because justice is not just an idea. It must be lived. It must be felt. It must be practiced.

Who We Are:
The Andre Cailloux Center for Performing Arts & Cultural Justice (ACC) is a Black-woman-artist-led 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. ACC was founded in 2022 with a bold mission: to advance freedom, flourishing, and justice through the arts, cultural memory, and sustainable enterprise for Black makers.

Our center lives inside the former St. Rose de Lima Church, a 110-year-old structure on Bayou Road, the oldest road in New Orleans. Bayou Road predates the city itself. Once a trade route for Houma, Choctaw, and Chitimacha people, it became a path of fugitivity; a route where maroons and freedom seekers found one another and built life beyond bondage.

We envision being a sustained resource for our community, providing a rich incubator experience and learning space for artists and performing arts companies-in-residence, and serving as an actual, much-needed, self-determined gathering space for innovation, strategy, and fellowship. We are both a hyper-local and national site dedicated to the legacy and memory of freedom fighters like Andre Cailloux.

What Your Investment Supports:
Our model is rooted in residency, remembrance, and interdependence, and we're raising $50,000 to support our resilience and capacity as a community gathering space, resourced, sustainable, and rooted in service to our people.

Produce Impactful Community Programming: Create and sustain dynamic cultural events and performances that celebrate who we are and where we come from.
Expand Access to Arts Education Support transformative learning experiences for youth and adults—tools for creativity, skill development, and career pathways in the arts.
Offer Subsidized Event Rentals for Community Groups. Maintain accessible spaces for local organizations to gather, celebrate, and createfostering belonging on historic Bayou Road.
