Meet ACM Collective, ECS 2022 Tap Artists

ACM Collective is a start up tap dance company founded by three eclectic artists; Gina Accordino, Dani Champagne, and Erin McDonagh. We come together to explore narrative and abstract concepts through tap dance, specifically focusing on rhythm and musicality to research, create, and collaborate.

We have been commissioned by Mare Nostrum Elements’ Emerging Choreographer Series 2022 to create our first work as a collective, titled Eternal Evolution, premiering on April 26th & 27th at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center. Simultaneously, we are setting up ACM Collective’s administrative logistics, branding and marketing strategies, and financial responsibilities with the goal of eventually converting our new work for ECS 2022 into an evening length production.

Eternal Evolution delves into the intersections between three individual journeys, how they affect, influence, and inspire each other, and the infinite possibilities that develop through human interaction and connection. We are researching this concept through rhythm & musicality as well as elements of space & elasticity.

What Your Funds Will Support

We are seeking support for expenses not covered by the Emerging Choreographer Series program to ensure the continuation of this piece after its intial premiere. We also seek to offset essential start-up expenses such as graphic design, website registration and creation, music editing, and additional remuneration for our collective to account for our multiple duties as choreographers, artistic directors, and dancers. Your funds will cover:

ACM Collective Choreographers

Dani Champagne

Dani Champagne is a NYC based performer and dance instructor trained in all styles, specializing in tap dance. Dani has performed with Demi Remick & Dancers, toured the east coast with DrumatiX dance company and acted as dance captain while with the Boston Tap Company. She has been featured in works across NYC at venues such as Arts On Site, American Tap Dance Foundation, Symphony Space, Emerging Choreographer Series at LPAC, and Steps On Broadway. Dani has worked and trained closely with tap dance artists, Dianne Walker and Derick Grant. She currently teaches tap dance at Common Ground and is assisting classes at Broadway Dance Center. She continues to share her love and knowledge of tap dance by choreographing and working with private students across the Northeast. Dani is very excited and proud to be a member of the new found group, ACM Collective.

Erin McDonagh

Erin McDonagh is a recent graduate of Marymount Manhattan College where she received two degrees in Dance and Business. She is the Founder/Artistic Director of Syncopate to Authenticate Music Project; Long Island’s pre professional tap dance company. Throughout her professional career, Erin has had the opportunity to perform at a variety of venues such as the Schomburg Center, Kaye Playhouse, Hudson Guild Theater, Symphony Space, and more! Erin is super grateful to be a part of the ACM Collective and for all of the support the collective has received.

Gina Accordino

Gina Accordino is a dancer and choreographer currently located in New York City. She is an alumni of Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester and has a degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. Gina is currently the dance captain of Project Convergence and has had the privilege of being the associate choreographer for Broadway Dance Center's Pre-Professional company RAP. Throughout her professional career she has had the opportunity to perform at various venues in the city and across the country including Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and Dixon Place. In her free time Gina has cultivated the tap program at Miss Colleen's Elite Dancentre where she shares her love of tap with children ages three to eighteen. Gina is so excited to be on this journey with ACM Collective!

ABOUT ECS

The Emerging Choreographer Series is an intensive crash-course in self-producing; offering rehearsal space, dancer and choreographer pay, career development consultations, and professional mentorship to selected choreographers. During the course of the program, choreographers will create, develop, and premiere a new work at CUNY’s LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC) in Long Island City.
