How is their home functioning and performing? What should you know about passive house / net zero living? We will go over this and answer your questions. Please join us for a virtual tour of their home, including additional GHI members who designed and built it. Continuing Education Units (CEUS) submitted 1 hour in* Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) Building Performance Institute (BPI) NonWholeHouse Submitted for American Institute of Architects - AIA (HSW) Certified Green Professional (NARI & CGP) Certified GreenHome Professional (CGHP) Pillar(s): Energy, Health, Materials, Water, Place American Institute of Building Designers (AIBD) State Architect / Builder License may be applicable Building Science Institute (BSI) Verifier Passive House Consultant US (CPHC) Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) Lessons Learned - Understand the importance of sustainable and energy-efficient decarbonization design in promoting good health for occupants . - Analyze the potential risks associated with human health through aging in place and design homes that prioritize safety and accessibility for all occupants. - Introduce decabornization using passive house / net zero living concepts to promote sustainable lifestyles that benefit both individuals and the environment. - Articulate the significance of designing homes that prioritize the humand health and welfare of occupants, the wider community, and the planet. Speakers A. Harvey Bell, IV was appointed Professor of Engineering Practice and Co-Director of the Multidisciplinary Design Program on September 1, 2010 after a 39 year career in the automotive industry with General Motors. During his career with General Motors some of his significant positions were: Chief Engineering, 2.5 Liter Engine, Vehicle Chief Engineer, 4th Generation Camaro and Firebird, Executive Director, Vehicle Performance and Executive Director, Advanced Vehicle Development Center for North America. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and undertook graduated studies at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Michigan-Dearborn. Harvey serves as a GHI Technical Committee Member.
