For my birthday I am raising donations for The Apricity Hope Project.

The Apricity Hope Project is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides mental, physical and emotional support to families with disabled and/or medically complex children who are facing life limiting conditions.

AHP serves families and children's hospitals across the USA with:

Hospital go-bags for parents in the pediatric ICU with their children
Seasonal care(giver) packages
An internationally listened to podcast, When Autumn Comes, that provides connection and virtual community to families who are isolated both logistically and emotionally.
Restorative, inclusive retreats for caregiving mothers. Guests of these retreats travel from across the country to attend retreats that are anywhere from one to four days long. AHP's retreats provide respite care that focuses on the mental, physical and emotional health of the mom, beyond being a caregiver. Retreats are hosted at the Apricity Hideaway in Norfolk, VA

Apricity means "the warmth of the sun in the winter". Created and founded by Susan Geoghegan, a medical mom who has two children with mitochondrial disease, the Apricity Hope Project first handedly knows that being a caregiving parent of a medically complex child/children can be a dark, cold and isolating season of parenthood. AHP believes that in order to truly care for children who are facing big, scary medical battles we must care for the parents who are navigating this journey alongside them. With the support of the community, together we can be the light, the warmth and the hope for families who are living lives they never expected to be living.
