AHTF welcomes our 2024 AHTF Evelyn Mackin Travel Award recipient Aviva Wolf to share her experiences working with therapists in the Middle East for a special online event! This presentation explores a global health initiative focused on training therapists in upper extremity rehabilitation for combat trauma in the Middle East. Aviva will share insights into delivering care care in austere, conflict affected settings, building local capacity and navigating the complex interplay of trauma, resilience and cultural context.

Aviva Wolff, EdD, OT, CHT is an occupational therapist, clinician-scientist with experience working individuals with upper extremity musculoskeletal injuries. She consults for the Julliard School and runsthe upper extremity clinical movement analysis programs and biomechanics research at the Leon Root, MD Motion Analysis Laboratory at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Her research interest is in the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal occupational overuse injuries. Dr. Wolff has served in leadership capacities in multiple professional organizations and has published multiple papers and book chapters. She is also a Past-President of the American Society of Hand Therapists.
