Why it matters: Georgia voters will weigh in on races for governor, U.S. Senate, all 14 congressional seats, all general assembly seats (56 in state senate, 180 in state house) and several statewide constitutional offices, including lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and attorney general.

What the PAC does: GPA PAC works at the state level, contributing to candidates for the Georgia General Assembly (and some statewide offices) who champion our positions on critical issues that affect psychologists and psychology trainees, and the communities where we serve, live, and work.

The PAC is nonpartisan.
Contributions to the PAC help GPA maintain and grow legislative relationships.

Scope of practice protection and wise practice regulation
Psychology workforce and services expansion
Equitable mental health access
Insurance, including mental health parity implementation and enforcement, and ensuring appropriate reimbursement for the full range of psychologists’ and trainee services both in-person and via telehealth.
Expand Medicaid reimbursement of services to psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral residents to provide and be reimbursed for testing and psychotherapy.

GPA helped pass the "Psychiatric Advance Directive Act" (HB752), the result of over 20 years of effort.
In coalition with the Georgia Mental Health Policy Partnership, GPA supported the passage of the "Georgia Mental Health Parity Act" (HB 1013).
