Why We're Hosting This

At the Audubon Park Garden District, we're always looking for ways to bring people together. Not just to shop, stroll, or plant flowers (though we love all of that), but to connect.

This Tabletop Game Night was dreamed up our Community Engagement Team volunteers, who came to us with both experience running game nights and a spare bedroom full of board games (we're not kidding). The idea? A simple, low-pressure evening where people can meet, play, relax, and enjoy a bit of connection with others in the neighborhood.

Years ago, we hosted French wine and cheese pairing classes (OG'ers - you know the one!). Most arrived in pairs, but by the end of the event, after sitting at shared tables, learning something new and having fun, something shifted. It wasn’t just about the wine. People left feeling a little more rooted in the community. (Ok, the wine probably helped.)

This game night is our way of trying to replicate some of that magic:

No pressure to know the rules
No expectation to bring a group
Just a cozy night out in the district, with snacks, games, and good humans

We're charging $5 per person only to make sure we have an accurate headcount. In return, your ticket includes your choice of sparkling lemonade or Redlight Redlight hush puppies.
