ARISE began as a joint summer retreat organized by a few college students with a collective heart to serve the youth from local Korean Churches. Since then, we have continued to host a summer retreat, being a consistent ministry presence for many second-generation Korean Americans for 30 years.

God’s faithfulness to His people in New England has been evident year after year, especially during the last few summer retreats. Many students who have come to faith at ARISE have returned in following years, continuing to grow and walk in faith in community. More than 50% of youth attendees in 2023 were returning students. Through the years, some have even returned as older brothers and sisters in the faith to serve the current generation of youth as counselors, speakers, praise team members and staff.

This ministry has grown to be a place where the next generation not only exercises faith in serving, but also finds safety and community for those who seek to grow in their walk with God. We hope that ARISE will continue to be fertile ground for faith and community to flourish. In faith and obedience, we contend for revival, Christ-centered community, and intergenerational unity, but we cannot do it alone.

ARISE is in need of financial support to continue our mission in serving the Korean churches of New England. As we look to the future, we are filling gaps in operations, expanding our programs, and bolstering financial sustainability. The first of our many goals is to maintain retreat registration prices as they are in the midst of rising retreat and operational costs post-pandemic. We are humbly asking our ARISE family to partner with us so that we can make this a reality!

As we look to the future, we hope that this area will continue to have ARISE as a resource and community for thirty, even sixty more years. This summer, please prayerfully consider financially partnering with ARISE and supporting next-generation faith.
