Frida's journey at the Animal Rescue League of Boston started in January 2023 after being rescued by the Humane Society of the United States from a massive dogfighting operation the previous fall. Upon her arrival, she not only needed significant medical care, but compassion and love from humans who wanted the very best for her - something she had never experienced prior. ARL was able to tailor her environment to meet her needs, identifying when a foster was needed to further her healing journey. A few months later, I was lucky enough to come across ARL and Frida's adoption profile by chance, and immediately knew she was meant to be mine. This was soon proved to be true, as Frida arrived home on June 30th, 2023. I am happy to say that with each passing day, Frida continues to grow into herself and her personality has flourished! What I value most about ARL is that they remain present even after adoption, whether it be in sending "adoptaversary" or birthday cards for Frida, or taking the time to comment on our latest post. The staff and volunteers at ARL are truly invested in the wellbeing and lives of animals from the moment they step through their doors and beyond. They want to see them win and have the lives they deserve, as well as provide adequate support to those who adopted them.

ARL has helped over 6.2 million animals (dogs, cats, hamsters, livestock, etc.) since they were founded in 1899.
