ASAR Training
HAKA’s mission is to support Hawai‘i’s communities before, during, and after disasters by providing services that care for the entire ‘ohana, including pets.
Hawaiʻi Animal Kuleana Alliance (HAKA) is the premier animal disaster and emergency rescue organization of Hawaiʻi. Our origin as a grassroots Facebook group that evolved into a nonprofit has allowed us to be in the trenches to experience and evaluate the needs of our community and island. HAKA is focused on providing rescue services during disasters and emergencies, microchip compliance, and disaster education and preparedness for the whole ‘ohana.
We are so excited that, thanks to a partnership with Hawai‘i County, we are partially funded for our spring animal search and rescue training. This intensive training, along with the specialized equipment that we will purchase for the training and beyond, will help make Hawai‘i Island a safer place for pets and other animals. Once trained and equipped, our volunteer teams will be able to respond to calls for help when animals are lost, trapped, or in other types of emergency situations. Our teams will also be able to help evacuate and render assistance during disasters.
Your support will help to ensure that we can train and equip the maximum amount of volunteers allowed. Help us help the animals of Hawai‘i Island!
