According to government figures, over 100,000 Iowa residents have some form of physical or visual disability. In addition, people with disabilities are more likely to have depression, have obesity, smoke, have diabetes, and/or have heart disease.

Sports and recreation are well-known and popular methods to maintain health and wellness that many of us take for granted, but many people in our state do not have the same access to these resources.
