Last month, a fire in our building’s electrical room presented us with unforeseen challenges that significantly impacted our operations. Thankfully, there were no injuries, but the aftermath affected various operational functionalities critical to our day-to-day activities.

The fire led to a power outage, resulting in the loss of multiple refrigerators full of food, essential for our outreach programs. Our telecommunications systems were disrupted, complicating our daily operations such as securely buzzing clients and volunteers into the building. Additionally, our elevator was out of service, leaving stairs as the only option in our 4-floor building, which posed accessibility challenges for some staff and clients.

Despite these obstacles, our team's resilience shone brightly. We found alternative ways to ensure we met with all of our regular clients, continuing to provide care and support even when access to our building was temporarily lost. This situation truly speaks to the commitment and adaptability of our ATC team and community.

As we work tirelessly to restore our operations back to full capacity, currently at about 90%, we face the reality of costs that have piled up due to necessary repairs and replacements. The uncertainty of what insurance will cover has prompted us to reach out to our community for support.
