This week, we're turning our focus to the resources that supply our main outreach program: restocking essential food and supplies for our program staff and the young individuals we serve.
The importance of a well-stocked pantry and supply closet cannot be overstated. These resources are the backbone of our day-to-day operations, enabling us to provide consistent, quality support to those in need. The snacks, socks, soap, and basic hygiene supplies we carry on outreach, along with the food and clothing items clients get to choose from in our office, make a huge difference in clients' daily lives. These items also form the foundation of our approach to building unconditional, long-term relationships.
However, the reality is that the sources of where usually get these supplies have dwindled down a bit. We used to get significant amounts of corporate in-kind donations and monetary support that we aren’t seeing anymore. On top of that, the SF-Marin Food Bank budget cuts have also throttled one of our biggest sources of quality goods. Whether it's a financial donation or sending items directly from our wishlist, every act of kindness brings us closer to where we want to be in regard to our operational resilience.
