America, Who Hurt You? is the latest creative project from Tony Award-winning solo-performer, writer, director and podcaster Sarah Jones (along with her diverse “cast” of characters.) This new work, which centers people of color, social justice, and healing, is deeply aligned with HEART’s mission at the intersections of human rights, animal rights, and protecting our most vulnerable communities. From offering legal support and training around tenant rights and housing discrimination to addressing lack of access to services and neighborhood safety for both people and their pets, HEART embodies the core of the AWHY conversation. At this moment in Los Angeles, and in our nation, when our trauma is driving our politics, and our politics are driving our trauma, HEART understands that part of the healing and human flourishing we need to thrive as individuals and as a larger society includes protecting all our loved ones, both two- and four-legged!
