This year our DEVO team is riding in memory of Scott Gallagher, a dedicated cyclist, DEVO "dad", and beloved community member.

Karen, Scott's wife, writes:

Scott was a force of nature with his quick wit and infectious smile. His passion for bikes permeated others, his enthusiasm for riding was contagious. He found great joy in watching young riders show off their skills, they all looked up to him, and loved riding with him (he always carried candy).

The Grief Center of Southwest Colorado has been a lifeline. They are truly amazing. A vital resource, you don’t know you need, until you do. Thank you to everyone involved. From early acute grief, unbearable pain, anger, confusion, to grief plateaus, and post traumatic growth. Including that big old comfy rocking chair.

Sarah Tescher, DEVO director and co-founder, writes:

Scott was a Devo parent, but not just any Devo parent. He was the one who would walk up to me after practice with the biggest smile and say thank you. He was the one who always asked how he could help and was so stoked to see his daughter come ripping in at the end of practice. He was the one who could talk bikes with me yet also be able to ask me about myself and my family. There isn't a practice that I don't miss seeing and talking with Scott. Gratitude is something not everyone is able to communicate, but Scott always did and he always made me laugh.

In addition, with your donation of any amount, one of our riders will ride in memory or honor of your loved one all the way to Silverton with a special placard with their name on it.
