On March 1, 2022, I opened up my son Garretts door to his room to find him on the floor, he had taken his own life. I have delt with suicide before in 2008 when I lost my sister Kristy. I had no tools or anyone to turn to at that time and ended up gaining 100lbs because I did not know how to deal with such deep emotions. You see dyeing from suicide is a lot harder to deal with because the person chose to end their life. that is not the norm. When my friend Christina gave me the info about Eric's House, I was not ready to call them. After my son's memorial I decided to give them a call and I thank God every day because they saved my life. I didn't think they could help me via zoom, but I was so wrong. Just having someone on the other side via a computer screen or phone was a life saver. I could not find any help here in California for suicide grief and I was not going to make it if I didn't find someone to hear me. I needed a grief group just for suicide. So here I am 3 years later, and I am asking for your help. Eric's House needs funds to help other people just like me, they are a nonprofit and depend on fundraising for support.
