We are thrilled to announce the fourth annual Intertribal Youth Ski Trip, bringing Indigenous youth together to experience the land, learn new skills, and build lasting connections across tribes.

For the first time, our 2026 trip will take place at Sunapee Mountain on February 7th, offering new slopes and experiences for our participants.

Indigenous Peoples Day Newton, in collaboration with local tribes, began the effort to organize and host this trip in 2023, turning a vision into reality. Over the past three years, youth from the Wampanoags, Narragansetts, NIPMUC, Abenaki, and Taíno communities have come together to ski, snowboard, and strengthen intertribal bonds.

Thanks to the generous support of Indigenous tribes and allies, participating youth have enjoyed:

Full-day ski or snowboard lessons
Equipment and clothing rentals
Lift tickets
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

The day is guided by volunteer chaperones — elders, parents, and respected tribal members — creating a safe, nurturing, and culturally grounded environment.

The trip begins with an Indigenous Ceremony and concludes with a ceremony led by the youth themselves, honoring their heritage, the land, and each other.

We are asking for your support to cover bus rental, meals, lift tickets, equipment, and cultural supplies, ensuring that every youth can participate fully and safely.

Our goal is to raise $8,880 by February 1, 2026.
