Dear Family and Friends,

Four years ago, I went from feeling stagnant and helpless to hopeful as I stepped into an opportunity to try my hand at entrepreneurship. It stretched me because I had so much to learn, and the challenge grew me in ways I had not imagined. Through the waves of doubt, what kept me moving forward was the belief that if I could make this journey, I could help someone else make theirs too. I’ve experienced the blessing of a supportive family and community. I’ve also seen how many people—right here in our own city—don’t have access to the same opportunities unless someone is willing to step beyond their comfort zone and meet them where they are. Leveraging my business, my very first campaign was dedicated to raising funds for holiday gifts for members of City Team, a nonprofit committed to restoring hope and dignity to our vulnerable neighbors in and around Oakland. For the past year, I have had the privilege of volunteering with the women's ministry at Turning Point, City Team's shelter for women. In last year's campaign, since I had developed personal relationships with many of the women members, your generous gifts helped me fill the space under their Christmas tree with specific gifts for them and their children. Last week, after an afternoon of conversation and care, several women expressed the desire to start their own businesses. They could imagine a future where they were thriving, stable, and independent.

That spark of possibility is priceless—and it’s something we can help nurture.
