Ace is a 4 year old Great Dane who came into Big Paws rescue as a surrender. He is a gentle giant who unfortunately has lived his life being passed around. Ace was brought in by a kind couple who did their best to get him healthy and cared for after a life of living outdoors and experiencing some neglect.

Ace came to Big Paws after his rescuers realized their home was just not large enough for this large breed dog. Ace came to us heartworm positive, which is incredibly costly to treat, especially when you weigh 150 pounds!

Big Paws specializes in large breed dogs for many reasons. They are much more difficult to find quality homes for, their vetting and medical costs are quite a bit higher, and large breed dog's behavioral needs are often much more challenging to work with simply due to their size.
