At Acting Antics Inc., we believe the spotlight belongs to everyone. Our mission is to provide socialization and skill-building opportunities for children, teens, and adults with social-cognitive challenges through the creative use of theater and the arts. In our programs, actors use theater games, scripted scenes, improvisation, music, and movement to practice real-life skills such as reading body language and other nonverbal cues, understanding tone of voice and abstract language, taking another person’s perspective, and communicating their own thoughts and feelings more clearly.

Theater gives our participants a place to grow without feeling singled out. Onstage, they can try on new roles, observe and practice gestures, voices, and mannerisms, work as part of an ensemble, and build confidence in a space where creativity is celebrated. It is amazing to see what happens when a student finds their voice behind a microphone, masters a complex dance routine, understands a scene from someone else’s point of view, or feels the pride of being seen and accepted by their peers.
