My husband Mike, a family practice physician, had a lifelong love for East Africa. As a medical student, he traveled to Kenya, and after residency, we worked together in Tanzania for six months. Those experiences shaped us in so many ways, and Mike always dreamed of going back. He never got that chance—but through this Adopt-a-Village project, we can help make his dream a reality.

I’ve been on the Global Health Connections Board of Directors for several years, and I’ve seen firsthand how GHC empowers communities through health, education, and income-generating opportunities. Their mission has always resonated deeply with me—and now, adopting a village in Mike’s honor is a way to connect his life and legacy with the work I care about so much.

Together, we are focusing on Kimuka Village, one of GHC’s newest partners. Members in the GHC Community Health and Empowerment Club (CHEC) have recently completed their initial health and financial literacy training and soon will be piloting a new poultry farm. With your help, they can expand it and support other income-generating initiatives. The $18,000 we raise will fully fund Kimuka’s journey—creating sustainable businesses, supporting children’s health, and helping the entire community thrive.
