Today, 1 in 4 adults in our region struggles with low literacy. This statistic represents real people with real dreams (parents, workers, caregivers, neighbors) who deserve the chance to reach their goals.

Illiteracy should never be the reason someone’s future is limited.

Your gift of $100 or more to the Literacy Council of West Alabama will directly support our Literacy for ALL Campaign, which provides uniquely designed, dignity-preserving, adult-focused learning books created just for our learners. The purpose of the books is to serve as supplemental material for learners to practice their reading skills. Our books will replace the picture books they choose at the end of each tutoring session. This way our learners will be able to build literacy skills without sacrificing their dignity.

Every dollar moves us closer to our $25,000 goal and reaching it sooner allows us to serve more adults without delay. While any amount is deeply appreciated, gifts of $100 or more accelerate our impact and bring critical resources to those who need them most.
