Affirm a Black Girl!

Defending Black Girlhood advocates for Black girls to be safe in their homes, schools and communities. With each sponsorship, we will be able to gift Black girls with an “I am Wonderful!” Affirmative Kit for $30 or an Affirmation Backpack for $75.

The Affirmation Kits will include:

—A 56 paged “I am Wonderful!” Affirmation Activity and Coloring Book written and illustrated by Lilada Gee

—A box of multi-cultural crayons

—Affirmation sticker, band or button

The Affirmation Backpacks* will include:

—A backpack decorated with affirmation art by Lilada Gee

—An “I am Wonderful!” Affirmation Kit (see above)

—Self-care items

—Black doll (when available)

*The Affirmation Backpacks are a new initiative for inspiration and self-care for Black girls in foster care and in domestic abuse and homeless shelters. The backpacks are created to give the girls inspiration and a small safe place to keep their special items during a time of transition in their lives.
