Visit the link below https://www.ahimsachildbirth.com/events-1/tailgate-and-transcend This healing hiking experience is for families, couples, and singles that are ready to connect our roots to this Earth, awaken our senses, and get reacquainted with our personal passions. We will tailgate at 8:00am on Saturday, July 23 at Clean Juice Mooresville. Clean Juice will be providing vouchers for a FREE item and offering 10% off their products. We will depart from Clean Juice at 9:30am and be expected to arrive by 11:30 am. When we arrive Brett and Leela Zile will lead exercises, yoga, and healing art practices to prepare the group for the hike. If you are not into a strenuous but short hike, the Plunge Basin Overlook is 1/2 mile from the lot. Otherwise, The trail to the base of the falls is 3/4 of a mile from the parking lot. "It is steep and rugged but not a long trail, so with patience most folks can make the trek". Let us know you can make it. RSVP today! BLACK & BROWN MOTHERS AND BABIES ARE DYING at an alarming rate compared to other races. In North Carolina black and brown baby birthers are 3 - 5 times more likely to die from childbirth-related causes, US C-section rates are high, and perinatal mood disorders affect one in every five families. New reports show maternal health continues to trend in the wrong direction.
We believe everyone deserves a doula, plus access to resources and information that is grounded in science and truth and rooted in love. That's why we are building capacity to improve health outcomes for women and infants in rural & low-income communities and communities of color regardless of where they live and what they can afford. Ahimsa Childbirth Services was founded to combat these issues with unconditional pregnancy, postpartum, & partner support, advocacy, and education. The work we do promotes safe, strong, resilient birth communities. Our personalized approach paired with our rewards program changes negative attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs community members have about pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The practices we teach strengthen social/emotional connections which promote positive birth and early relational health outcomes. And fitness and yoga classes help the maternal community develop habits of self-love/care and self-regulation.
