Hi, my name is Abby. I’m a Horgie. Are you wondering what a Horgie is? It is a dog that is half Corgi and half Siberian Husky.
I moved to Aiken in 2021. I’m not sure where I was born, but in 2021 when I was two years old, I was transported from a kill shelter in North Carolina to the SPCA Eastern Shore Virginia. My mom was on the SPCA board and the moment she saw me she knew I would be hers. It was the one blue eye that caught her attention. The shelter staff wasn’t sure it was a good match. I was wild and a bit unmanageable and my mom liked quiet dogs. But it was a match.
So here is my resume:
I have a sister, a Great Pyrenees, rescued in Aiken and adopted from the SPCA Albrecht center. My brother is a 15-year-old brat, part Shih Tzu and part Chihuahua also adopted on the Eastern Shore.
Squeaky toys are my passion. My other mom, Susie, buys me a new one every time she shops. I can remove the squeaker in record time.
Squirrels fear me. We have a pecan tree in the yard that is their domain. I frequently sit watch at the base of the tree in case anyone falls.
I attended obedience school twice and didn’t make the cut. I never mastered loose leash walking. Walking me is like driving a sled. Hold on tight.
I am a champ at catching balls. See my picture. Also take a look at my toybox. All the funds I raise will help the pets at the SPCA Albrecht Center, Aiken
