Alison joined the Eliot School a decade ago, first as a teacher, then as School Partnership Program Director, eventually becoming Associate Director, collaborating on organizational strategy and vision. During her time here, she founded the Teen Bridge and Artist in Residence programs to help cultivate the current and next generation of artists and leaders in art and craft. She also started our newest program, Career Pathways in Carpentry and Craft, which is currently in it's second year. Alison has also co-led the national Racial Equity in Craft Working Group, which was launched in 2020 by the Society of Arts + Crafts.

Alison’s sculpture is in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She is a recipient of the 2023 Boston Artadia Award, the 2022 US Artists Fellowship in Craft and has been featured in American Craft Magazine, Yankee Magazine, The Boston Globe, and elsewhere.

Why Donate?

We are elated to be able to offer scholarships to students from low-income households. Priority is given to children attending a BPS school, with preference for those attending one of our partnership schools. However, we also offer a limited number of scholarships to adult students. Having the oppurtunity to take an art class without the finacial burden of doing so can hold profound meaning to many members of the Eliot School community. Our scholarships help our community explore the joy and discovery that art-making can bring, strengthening our resolve to inspire craft and creativity for all.
