In 2025, vetting and medical expenses exceeded $246,000. We have set our 2026 goal to cover those costs and more for this calendar year.

Almost Home Canine Rescue (AHCR) is a non-profit, 100% donor-funded, volunteer-operated, and foster-based rescue serving the Sioux Falls, SD tristate area. Every day, our dedicated team works to give dogs and puppies a second chance at life by providing safe foster homes, veterinary care, and the love they need to thrive.

In addition to local rescue efforts, AHCR proudly supports the Wakpa Waste Animal Shelter on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, helping to provide critical resources, transport, and ongoing support to animals in need.
