I am honored to share my June 23 birthday with my Ugandan son, Ambrose Iradukunda, whom I met on my visit in December 2023 to the BACHO program in Uganda. We connected very well, and I was impressed by his very gentle and caring nature, his intelligence, and his talents in poetry and singing. As he was an orphan, we decided to become father-son. It wasn't until later that we realized we share the same birthday! Recently Ambrosed contacted me with the request to start a fundraising page for him as he wanted to raise money for the cultural performers of BACHO. As I was already planning to raise funds towards scholarships, we decided to join hands and combine our fundraising activities!

Our total fundraising target is $9,000 towards these 2 BACHO programs that benefit many youth, most of them orphans and/or children living with HIV

Education scholarships for orphans in the BACHO program. Of the 62 orphans in the program, while 38 have currently already found a sponsor, there are still 24 who are in need of a sponsor to cover their educational expenses. The total for 1 term for the 24 of them is approximately $5,900.
Additional equipment for the BACHO performers, the Lake Edward Cultural Performers (LECUP): They are often asked to perform at regional events, and then receive some payment that can be used towards their basic needs (food, clothing, tuition). For more information and to see some of their clips, visit http://bacho.sahaya.org/lecup/. Some of their old materials have fallen apart, and needs to be replaced. Additional materials will also allow them to train more children, who can also become part of LECUP, and through the process, gain confidence and skills.
