Hosted at the world-famous Homestead-Miami Speedway in Miami, FL, this is the only Ultra event of its kind in the United States. Over the course of 24 hours, skaters will test their worth to skate as many miles as they can.

About The Riders

EARL

Earl Stout III (@wanderdust.starlust) is gearing up for his first Ultraskate, an inspiring milestone after overcoming significant health challenges. Last year, Earl planned to participate but faced complications from a stress test and a heart attack. On January 29th, he underwent quintuple bypass open-heart surgery—a result of radiation treatments he received during his battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma from 2006 to 2008.

This year, Earl is determined to take on the Ultraskate with a goal of 100 miles, though he’s optimistic about possibly reaching 150 miles. “I’m not setting the bar too high, being just a year out from surgery, but I’m feeling faster and stronger!” he says. “I’ll take it —one breath, one second, one minute, one hour at a time.”

Earl is skating in honor of his mother, who passed from adrenal carcinoma; Anne Palmer, who fought metastatic breast cancer; Brent Evans; and all those battling and surviving cancer.

“Push yourself to survive so you can thrive. You’re capable of more than you think. Don’t give up!”

BOB

Bob Foster, 62, from Burlington, NJ, is no stranger to the physical and mental demands of Ultraskate. This will be his third Ultraskate, where he aims to surpass his previous achievement of 131 miles and break his own course record for Men 60+ in the Paddle/Push Division. His ambitious goal for this year: 150 miles.

Bob's skateboarding journey began at age 10, mastering vert ramps throughout his teenage years. His athletic talents extend far beyond skateboarding, including a successful career in mountain bike observed trials (obstacle courses). Since the early 1980s, he has been a competitive rider, claiming the New Jersey State Champion title in 1987 and ranking in the top 10 nationally.

More recently, Bob has dedicated himself to long-distance skateboarding. In 2024 alone, he achieved remarkable milestones:

3rd place in the Adventure Sports Virtual Challenge (most miles in March: 355).
Completed the I.D.S.A. 1000K May Challenge in just 27 days—one of only 10 people in the world to do so.
2nd place overall in Men 60+ at Ultraskate.
Accumulated over 3,100 miles ridden so far this year.

Bob will be skating in honor of his mother, Nancy Foster, whose strength and faith during her battle with cancer continue to inspire him. Her resilience fuels his determination on the track.

TRAVIS

Travis Holmes-Upshur, a 33-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, brings a background in high school track and field to his new passion: longboard skateboarding. He began his journey in the spring of 2023 and quickly connected with Earl and the Philadelphia Longboarding community over the summer. Since then, Travis has embraced distance skating, already making a strong impression with his boundless energy and determination.

Travis’s vibrant spirit and positivity embody the kind of energy Brent would deeply appreciate. Last year, he skated 151.84 miles in honor of his father, who passed away from liver cancer. This year, he rides to honor his mother, a breast cancer survivor.

Travis has set his sights on achieving an ambitious goal of 250 miles in 24 hours. With his friends and mentors by his side, he’s ready to push himself to the limit to make it happen.

STEVIE

Stevie Binder lost his mother, Barbara, in 2021. While his biological mother, Michelle, brought harm into his life, Barbara became his protector and mentor, shielding him from pain and teaching him invaluable life lessons. Barbara’s passing from brain and lung cancer was a profound loss, but her strength and love continue to inspire Stevie every day.

Barbara was born in 1957, and in her honor, Stevie is determined to surpass 57 miles during this Ultraskate.

Stevie has also set a personal goal of exceeding 87 miles. If he reaches that milestone, he plans to keep pushing until he can’t anymore—because that’s exactly what Barbara would have done.

AYANA

Ayana Banks, a 30-year-old skater from Philadelphia, PA, discovered skating in 2013 as a way to navigate college life. However, it was the 2020 pandemic that reignited their passion for the sport. In 2021, Ayana joined the Philly Longboard Crew and now serves as an admin, fostering a welcoming and inclusive community.

As a non-binary skater, Ayana is committed to spreading positivity, raising awareness, and encouraging others to embrace their authentic selves.

This will be Ayana's first Ultraskate, and they’re thrilled to take on the challenge of reaching 100 miles—with hopes of placing in the non-binary category.

Ayana proudly supports cancer survivors and is excited to ride in support of the Live Like Brent Foundation!
