Help Build The Artivism Library – Brick By Brick

The Artivism Library Collection provides a unique space in Southeast Washington, DC for socially engaged artists to explore, learn, and create through art-based, practice-based, and creative research.

By curating a diverse selection of rare, unique, and banned books alongside digital works and artifacts, the library aims to celebrate artivism – the fusion of art and activism – while amplifying marginalized authors often overlooked in mainstream discourse.

Make An Impact: This library is intentionally focused on art, activism, and community. Designed to disrupt the library system, The Artivism Library curates a diverse and revolutionary collection, and preserves non-circulating, rare, and banned books. The project encourages participants to engage with and understand contemporary media forms through research by showcasing literary and media arts, fostering critical thinking about how they influence public perception and social movements.

All funds raised by this campaign will be used for the architectural interior design and operations of the library.
