The Ashton Vieau Welding Scholarship endowment stands as an opportunity to honor the memory of Ashton Vieau. Ashton, a welding student at Alamance Community College, left this world on April 25, 2024 as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident. This endowment is intended to help empower aspiring welders to turn their dreams into reality. With an annual $1,000 scholarship, we pledge our commitment to supporting the next generation of welding professionals on their journey. Welding was Ashton’s passion and he excelled. He was hired by Piedmont Steel as a welder and quickly became a worker that could be counted on. He received multiple promotions and his plan after college was to move out West and work on the pipeline. The endowment mission is rooted in Ashton’s passion for the welding industry to help encourage the passion, dedication, and skill within the welding community, providing deserving individuals with the financial assistance they need to pursue their education and training. Through this scholarship endowment, we aim to honor Ashton's legacy by investing in bright futures, building a stronger, more vibrant welding industry for generations to come.
