The Atlanta Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Chapter, Inc. (NHAA-Atlanta) is a leader in organizational philanthropic giving for our beloved alma mater. Our chapter is committed to ensuring that future generations have an opportunity to receive an exceptional education at Hampton University without the subsequent concern of looming financial debt after graduation.

Three years ago, we challenged ourselves with an ambitious mission to raise funds to provide scholarships to Georgia students who matriculate at Hampton University. We know our scholars are depending on us and won't let them down.

In 2023, we awarded $60,000.00 to 7 recipients. We amazed ourselves by raising $50,000.00 in 5 minutes but we did not stop there. In an unprecedented move initiated by alumni chapter officers and with the strong support of Dr. Brian Davis, then-President and CEO of the Georgia Aquarium, two Hampton University students who were majoring in Marine Biology secured coveted summer internships at the Aquarium.

In 2024, we fell short of our goal, but we were able to donate $77,200.00 to 39 students. Once again, a Hampton University student had the rare opportunity to complete a summer internship at the Georgia Aquarium.

We believe we can do even more. Our 2025 scholarship fundraising goal is $100,000.00 and we are beginning our outreach efforts now. Yes, this is an ambitious goal but with the support of friends who share our hopes and dreams for the next generation, this goal is quite attainable.
