Calling Black first-years! Join us on October 5, 2024, for the sixth annual Black Convocation, a warm welcome to the Black UChicago community for incoming first-years.
Black Convocation will be held at Rockefeller Chapel. Doors will open at 1:30PM, and the service will start promptly at 2PM. This event calls for an all-white dress code! Following the ceremony, there will be a reception in Reynold’s Club with food and drinks. Visit the link in our bio to RSVP!
For the past six years, the Organization of Black Students and the African and Caribbean Student Association have collaborated to host Black Convocation at the start of the academic year to honor Black excellence, scholarship, and community. The purpose of the celebration is to welcome and uplift the incoming cohort of Black students to the university and the greater Chicago community.
Kinship: Embracing Our Collective Strength, the theme for Black Convocation 2024, is a call to all Black first-years to find your strength, community, and sense of belonging within the UChicago Black Community. We are stronger together, and we’re here for you.
We can't wait to see you there! Please get in touch with @acsa.uchicago or @obs_uchicago if you have any questions.
