Every day, families of children with disabilities face barriers when trying to access the education and support their children deserve. Too often, parents are told “no,” left without answers, or made to feel powerless in meetings where decisions about their child’s future are being made.

At Bridges to Advocacy, we believe no family should have to face this journey alone. That’s why we created the Inclusive Communities Training & Family Advocacy Project—a program designed to train parents, caregivers, and community members to become strong advocates for children with disabilities, while also providing direct advocacy support to families in need.

Through this project, we will:

Provide free and low-cost trainings that help families understand their rights under IDEA and Section 504.
Partner with schools, service providers, and first responders to create more inclusive, welcoming communities.
Offer one-on-one advocacy support for families navigating IEPs, 504 plans, and educational barriers.

We’ve already seen the impact: families who once felt unheard now walk into meetings confident, informed, and supported. Children who were falling through the cracks are finally receiving the services they need to thrive.
