The WHIRLWIND DANCE GALA is where WhirlWind’s community of movers/makers, community/artists, youth company and supports gather to celebrate and support its outstanding artistic achievements. We have received a generous donation that gave us funds to produce our gala! We welcome donations of all sizes and intentions! As a verified charity and with the givebutter platform, each supporter receives a receipt of their donation. Please join us 6:30pm at The Centure in German and Merion Village to celebrate the WhirlWind!

What is a WhirlWind?

Located in Columbus, Ohio, WhirlWind is a non-profit organization home to a professional contemporary dance company, a pre-professional youth training program, seasonal workshops, drop in classes, and more. WhirlWind’s mission is to explore the symbiotic relationship between dance and life. WhirlWind’s vision is to be a creative community that empowers the voice of its artists.

What impact has WhirlWind made?

One of our dancers says it best, "Being a part of Whirlwind has inspired me so deeply as a creative to push boundaries for my own artistic voice; there is no limit on creativity. How pulling from the beauty and chaos of your own life experiences and creating movement that enhances it can be incredibly powerful. Whirlwind creates a place for people to believe that what they have inside them is worth sharing with the world. There’s endless room as an artist to feel self-doubt in your work and capabilities, and Whirlwind continues to show up for artists and give them a place to feel valued. Curating a space for people to come together, and experience movement that makes the audience feel like they can relate to it."
