Montclair High School's Mighty Mounties Marching Band is re-building. Thanks to your support last year, the band purchased new uniforms! Other highlights include:

Students kicked off the summer working hard at band camp,
We added a color guard,
The band welcomed all MHS students and faculty on the first day of school,
The band performed a field show for the Homecoming game,
And the season ended with the cold, but exciting, Totowa holiday parade!

We are asking for your help to continue growing our program. We need to replace the well-loved, but well-worn drumline equipment, and to protect the new uniforms with travel bags and end-of-season dry cleaning. We're also hoping to purchase a banner that we can use during parades and new silks for the color guard. Further down the wish list, we would like to look at new music charts and drill design software and/or a drill designer.

Without strong fundraising, the band is not able to extend the season as a pep band, and any
non-football events such as a Spring trip or a Fall exhibition/competition are in doubt. With your help, we hope to provide more opportunities for the MMMB to keep performing!

What makes the Mighty Mounties Marching Band so impactful? Here’s what students say:

"The Mighty Mounties Marching Band is impactful because it creates a community
where people truly grow. I joined at the beginning of my sophomore year with
almost no musical experience, and it ended up being the best decision I’ve made
in high school. I loved the idea of marching band, but I didn’t expect to get this
close to the people in it or to care so deeply about the time we have left together.
Our band has built itself up from almost nothing, and a huge reason for this
progress is Mr. Hylton, our band director and my favorite teacher. He puts his
heart into everything we do, working to give us challenging music, uniforms, and
(especially) new instruments. Through marching band, I’ve grown as a musician
and met some of the best people I know. We work hard, stay dedicated, and still
manage to laugh, goof around, and become closer every season. I can already
see how much the band can achieve because of the commitment of its members,
Mr. Hylton, and everyone who supports it." - Aaria Shah 11th grade (1st Bass

How would new drums enhance the performance of our Marching Band?

"The drums we currently have are very old and falling apart. In the two years that I
have been at this school, we’ve tried to fix many parts of our drums, but these
fixes are very temporary. They often only work for a game or two before we need
to fix it again. If our drumline had new drums, we would look more cohesive and
would sound better as a band." - Sasha Menjivar 10th grade (Snare Drum)

"New drums would enhance the marching band’s performance because our
drums are either always out of tune or have holes in them. Aside from the quality
of our sound, the added confidence new working drums would give us would be
immense, and would greatly benefit the band as a whole. - Avery Cooper 10th
grade (4th Bass Drum)

Why should people donate to the MMMB fundraiser?
"People should donate because our marching band is full of students who show
up, put in real work, and care deeply about what we play together. We’re trying to
move our program forward, but we can’t do that with equipment that’s way past
its lifespan. New drums would finally let us perform with the sound, confidence,
and mastery that MMMB has earned. It might seem this way, but a donation isn’t
just buying instruments. It’s giving a growing program the chance to keep
improving and making the Mounties proud. - Aaria Shah 11th grade (1st Bass

"Donating to the Mighty Mounties marching band is a worthy cause. With the
addition of newer drums, it will boost morale of the band. Secondly, the quality of
sound will increase. Thirdly, when other bands look at our instruments they'll
