In the past week, two disasters have struck the Philippines, leaving many of our Yellow Boat Communities in crisis.

Typhoon Opong (international name: Bualoi) brought heavy rains and strong winds that devastated parts of Romblon — including the towns of Cajidiocan, Romblon, and San Fernando — and Masbate, particularly Monreal. Families lost their homes, fishing boats, and access to clean water.

Just days later, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake shook Northern Cebu, severely affecting communities in San Remigio, Bantayan, Daanbantayan, Malapascua, and Kinatarkan Islands. Classrooms and houses were damaged, leaving families displaced and students unable to return to school.

The Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation is mobilizing to provide urgent relief assistance — food packs, clean drinking water, and clothing — to these affected areas. Beyond immediate relief, we aim to help rebuild damaged classrooms and boats, ensuring children can safely return to their schools and communities can recover stronger than before.
