2025 Juneteenth Celebration in Phoenixville

For more than 140 years, Juneteenth National Freedom Day has been the oldest African American holiday observed in the United States.  Juneteenth National Freedom Day illuminates the fact that slaves celebrated the abolishment of slavery with excitement and great joy. It is a reminder to all Americans of the status and importance of Americans of African descent as American citizens.

This year on Sunday, June 22, between 2 and 6 pm, the PHOENIXVILLE JUNETEENTH COMMITTEE (Black Light Projects, Diversity In Action, Orion Communities, The Colonial Theatre, and Phoenixville Community Health Foundation) has organized a special collection of activities to engage the community and shed light on the importance of African American history in the United States and our community. We will commemorate this important date with historical re-enactors, music, art, dance, drummers, magic, Soul food, and storytelling. The events will take place on the 200 block of Bridge Street in Phoenixville.

We hope you will join us on June 22nd as we continue to celebrate Juneteenth National Freedom Day with excitement and great joy. Please also consider donating as we bring this celebration to downtown Phoenixville to raise awareness, educate our community, and honor local and national African American citizens.

Sponsorship level donors will receive community-wide print, social media, digital and verbal acknowledgment leading up to the celebration and on the day of the celebration. Please send your logo to [email protected].
