BHC is excited to announce the redesigned mentorship program, The BHC Scholars. This program is open to students interested in applying to professional schools, such as Doctor of Medicine, Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Nurse. It has a one-year application cycle.

Undergraduate & Post-Graduate Students:

Initial interest & Shadowing.

Students will shadow a Provider one day a week for 3 to 4 weeks per Doctor.

Shadowing Example:

Family Practice - 4 Weeks
Internist - 4 Weeks
Medical Procedures - Weeks

If the student is still interested in continuing and granted permission by the Medical Provider

The student will shadow three providers once a week in a four-week cycle.

Zoom & Google Meet

Students enrolled in the program will then participate in after-hour virtual workshops to review the following:

Application deadlines
Personal statements
Mock Interviews
General Support & Counseling of the entire application process

High School Students:

Students will shadow a Provider once a month for four months.

Students interested in applying to universities intended for a medical career can participate in virtual workshops.

Community Outreach Events

BHC hosts multiple community outreach events throughout the year.

Summer Sports Physicals (May & August)
Navidad en el Barrio Health Fair in Sanger & Fresno (December)

Volunteering at BHC's community outreach events is a requirement. Failing to volunteer may result in removal at our discretion.
