Help make our aspirations for Giving Tuesday a reality by making a contribution to BJ’s Julia Matalon Hesed Fund. Named after Rabbi Roly Matalon’s mother, Julia Matalon z”l, the Hesed (“loving kindness”) Fund provides support to those in the BJ community who are experiencing economic distress in general, and food insecurity specifically, especially since the onset of the pandemic.

Through the Julia Matalon Hesed fund, BJ was able to provide Passover provisions for a BJ member facing extreme food insecurity this past spring. Support from the Hesed Fund also allowed a BJ member to avoid a terrible choice: pay an unexpected medical bill, or pay rent.
