ABOUT THE BLACKSMITH RIDE
This is our 6th year of coming together to raise money and awareness of organ donation in honor of our friend Andy Blacksmith.
Andy sadly passed away in June of 2015 while waiting for a heart transplant at the age of 50. He was passionate about educating the community about the importance of organ donation and with our great partner, Seacoast Harley-Davidson, we are continuing that mission with the “Blacksmith Ride for Life” event.
HOW DO I BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR?
New England Donor Services coordinates organ and tissue donation in the six New England states and Bermuda. Through its two affiliated organ procurement organizations, Life Choice Donor Services ( LCDS ) and New England Organ Bank (NEOB) and its centralized tissue donation services operation, NEDS serves thousands of donor families each year who have generously made the decision to donate and honors the wishes of those who registered as donors and gave the gift of life. Donate Life New England is a special public outreach project to encourage people to join the Donor Registry—one of the many programs funded by generous contributions from the community.
