The Art of Social Justice: Black Lesbian Liberation Speaker Series

The Black Lesbian & Queer Speaker Series represents a groundbreaking digital initiative that centers social justice and intersectional feminism while aligning with The L-Project's mission to promote, support, and inspire emerging LGBTQIA+ BIPOC women and non-binary creatives through the arts and technology. This monthly/bi-monthly Venus series will platform influential Black lesbian and queer voices as they share strategies for dismantling systems of oppression, building collective power, and advancing liberation for all marginalized communities.

In a media landscape where Black lesbian and queer perspectives remain significantly underrepresented, this series will serve as both a vital resource for social justice education and a celebration of our community's revolutionary leadership. The series will leverage the established platforms of Venus and The L-Project to reach audiences hungry for authentic, intersectional content that not only speaks to the unique experiences of Black LGBTQIA+ individuals but also provides concrete pathways for creating systemic change through collective action.

Key Objectives:

  • Amplify Black lesbian and queer voices leading social justice movements and intersectional feminist organizing

  • Educate audiences on systemic oppression and provide concrete tools for dismantling inequality

  • Create accessible, high-quality content that inspires collective action and community building and organizing

  • Build bridges between different liberation movements through intersectional analysis

  • Generate sustainable engagement while mobilizing viewers toward meaningful social change

  • Foster mentorship and solidarity networks within multi-cultural LGBTQIA+ activist communities

Your generous donations will help us cover expenses associated with producing the high quality videos needed for this powerful series.

The L-Project proudly hires Queer women-owned businesses and vendors whenever possible.
