BMFF - Black Mountain Film Festival

The Black Mountain Film Festival is more than just a celebration of film—it’s a catalyst for cultural and economic growth in Somerset and across Kentucky. Hosted by PEAK (Powering the Economy through Arts in Kentucky), a nonprofit dedicated to investing in artists, students, and the local workforce, the festival brings together industry insiders, homegrown talent, and the community for three days of screenings, panels, and outdoor events. Our mission is simple: to help people do what they love in the place they love. By pairing world-class film experiences with community engagement—like free concerts, art installations, and youth-focused programs—we’re building a creative hub in Appalachia that fuels tourism, inspires students, and strengthens the regional economy.
