I am Sarah, and I am 17 years old. This summer, I've been accepted as a student to Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival.

When I was around 6 years old, I started to audition for youth theatre productions. Although it took me 8 years of auditioning and a lot of patience, I was ecstatic when I finally got in to a production at 14 years old. As of today, I have been in 11 theatre productions, with several bigger roles, with my favorite being the army officer in Les Miserables.

As for my music career, I got an electric keyboard for my 8th birthday. I slowly got better at playing, and in middle school I joined chorus. I learned how to read music and sing well with the help of my awesome chorus teacher! I have also been taking private voice lessons for several years. On my 17th birthday, I got an acoustic guitar and am learning quickly. It is my dream to be a music teacher in the future and Lutheran Summer Music will help me achieve that goal by teaching me new skills and providing me with new experiences! I can't wait to help young students, like myself, love music as much as I do! I am very excited for this experience and to show my skills at Lutheran Summer Music!

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus. Since 1981, this unique and immersive program has guided the lives of young musicians who credit LSM as the starting place for their future careers and vocations.

LSM was founded to celebrate and extend the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran church. Our founders believed that by providing high-quality training and performance opportunities to young musicians they could cultivate a lifelong love of classical and sacred music, thus preserving these art forms for generations to come.
