I am asking for your help on #GivingTuesday, not just as the founder of SavingTeens but as a parent who has experienced the unimaginable pain of losing a child to substance abuse. Twenty years ago, in the depths of my grief, I founded SavingTeens, a promise to my beloved son and all the teenagers fighting battles they should never have to face alone. Today, the urgency of our mission has never been greater, as the demand from families in crisis has reached unprecedented levels.

Every day, I feel the void left in my heart by the loss of my son. The pain is still raw, but it fuels my determination to save other families from experiencing the same heartbreak. The number of teens struggling with mental health conditions and addictions continues to rise, as well as the calls for help from parents trying to navigate this challenging journey. I hear echoes of my own story in the voices of desperate parents who are watching their children slip away into the abyss of addiction and mental health struggles. We must act now because we cannot turn our backs on these families.

SavingTeens is the lifeline I wish had been there for my son. We provide:

Essential financial assistance.

Emotional support.

Professional connections.

Access to parent coaches and mentors.

Access to the specialized programs and therapeutic services that can pull these teenagers back from the brink.

But as the demand for our help has ballooned, so has the degree of funding required to support our mission.

In 2023, your generosity allowed us to respond to 178 desperate calls for help. We awarded scholarships totaling $282,250, giving hope and a chance at recovery to those who might otherwise have been lost. But the calls keep coming, and the waiting list grows longer daily. We are stretched to our limits and need your help to meet this escalating crisis.

Every donation, no matter the size, can change a life. It can provide a struggling teenager with the therapy they need to break free from addiction's grasp. It can give a family the support they need to navigate this painful journey. It can honor the memory of my son and create a legacy of hope for generations to come.
